Every donation helps us achieve our goals.
BCC relies on small grants and donations to pay for the services we provide to residents and businesses in Beltsville. Grants come with restrictions and limitations on how the funds may be used. For example, grants from the MD Department of Agriculture may only be used for spay/neuter surgeries and the purchasing of traps, if specified in the grant application. Vet services to prepare kittens for adoption into forever homes and to care for sick and injured cats come from BCC’s general fund which is funded by donations from individuals, community groups, and businesses.
All donations are 100% tax deductible!
BCC welcomes all donations, regardless of the amount. One-time Donations of $250 or more will automatically receive a tax letter at the end of the calendar year. If you are donating between $100 and $250 and would like written verification of your donation, please email donate@beltsvillecats.net, providing your name, address, and the amount/date of the donation.
How are donations to BCC used?
In addition to spaying/neutering and vaccinating cats, donations allow us to provide medical care for free-roaming cats that are sick or injured and to purchase traps and other equipment.
A $85 donation will pay for a “Feral Package” at most vets used by BCC. The package includes the spay/neuter surgery, the Rabies and first FVRCP (distemper) vaccine, deworming, and the ear-tip that is done while the cat is under anesthesia.
A $100 donation will pay for one trap, including shipping.
