(the “Alliance”), a coalition of cat groups in PG County working with PG County Animal Services Division (PGASD-the county shelter) and Best Friends Animal Society. The “Alliance” was formed to decrease the euthanasia rate for cats at the county shelter and to ensure the community cats picked up by PGASD are altered and eartipped before they are released back to field. Best Friends Animal Society provides grant funding, training (e.g., on customer service, diversion strategies and kennel care), and technical assistance for PGASD staff.
BCC works closely with College Park Animal Control (CPAC) to ensure TNVR services are available in our neighboring community. The Maryland State Department of Agriculture grant that BCC received in October 2022 gives BCC the authority to spend some grant funds in the unincorporated parts of the 20740 Zip Code area.
BCC partners with no-kill shelters and other rescue groups to provide foster care and adoptive placements when our network is at capacity.
